Program Goals

Design Thinking & Student Ownership
To provide a holistic approach to design thinking by taking students through the full process of designing, manufacturing, testing, and revising a board that they can take complete ownership of. To increase their motivation and engagement by connecting learning to student's interests and passions.

Industry Partnerships & Career Pathways
To connect students with industry partnerships in the $17.2 billion Colorado Outdoor Industry. Students learn from entrepreneurs and innovators in the industry and build pathways to careers through direct connections with manufacturers and internship platforms.

Outdoor Access & Equity
To serve as ambassadors to local recreational experiences and provide access for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity. Break down barriers to participation by offering equipment, transportation, and mentorship so they can engage in healthy, active lifestyles.

Burke Edgar is an artist, art educator and co-teacher for the Gone Boarding Program at Wheat Ridge High School. With a bachelor's and master's degree in Art Education from UNC, he has been a proud member of The Farm since 2018, specializing in drawing, painting & graphic design.
Burke's passion for board sports and mountain culture runs deep. An avid snowboarder, splitboarder, skier, mountain biker, paddle boarder and longboarder, he thrives on any activity that propels him through space - especially when shared with family and friends. Since 2022, he has channeled his enthusiasm into coaching with the WRHS Mountain Bike Team, where he continues to inspire students through mountain adventures.
In the Gone Boarding Program, Burke brings together his dual passions: the creative process and board sport culture. This unique intersection allows him to guide students not just in designing and building action sports equiptment, but in understanding how artistry, craftsmanship and athletic passion can fuel meaningful work.

Teagan Meyers brings real-world engineering and manufacturing expertise to the Gone Boarding program as owner of Precision Innovations. His extensive experience with the WRHS STEM program enables him to translate complex technical concepts into hands-on learning, guiding students through snowboard design, construction, and manufacturing while teaching the precision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills essential for technical careers.
Beyond the classroom, Teegan is deeply committed to youth leadership development through his volunteer work with the American Legion, particularly with Boys Nation. This dedication to mentoring young people in civic engagement and leadership naturally extends into his teaching philosophy, where he emphasizes character development, personal responsibility, and teamwork alongside technical skills.
Known for his signature Hawaiian shirt collection, meticulously maintained mustache, and passion for Olympic shooting sports, Teegan brings an approachable and memorable presence to the program. His unique blend of industry experience, community leadership, and relatable personal style makes him an invaluable mentor helping students build confidence and envision successful futures in skilled trades.
